Overview
Polisze (@polisze_diy) is my hobby brand - hand-printed, upcycled clothing I make with my family, just to leave something of my own behind. No growth targets, no chasing followers or views. It is in this portfolio because it is the clearest proof of what I do when nobody hands me a brief.

A brand isn't a logo file.
It's the thing that still makes sense
ten years later.
Where it started
My streetwear itch started with skateboarding - late-90s Poland, the first skateshops, original graphics not just on decks but on tees and hoodies. Brands like Blind and Element hit me early; magazines like Ślizg showed a completely new visual language. That pulled me toward making my own tangible things.
The name came around 2010, from a single t-shirt: a warm, low-key answer to the aggressively patriotic designs everywhere back then. Friends shortened it to "Polisz", a little heart landed on a hand-lettered map of Poland, and it stuck. Since the kids arrived I have let the Polishness angle go - today Polisze is simpler: a family workshop, a space where we get to make things.
What it is now
Not a shop - a diary of family making. I do the graphics and the print, my wife crochets the hats, the kids' drawings become fabric designs, and the dog keeps showing up as a recurring character. Three things hold it together:
- Sustainability - a second life for clothes already in circulation, instead of adding to an oversaturated textile market.
- Craft - Montana spray, hand-cut stencils, fabric paint, heat-transferred kids' drawings. Deliberately anti-mass, anti-AI.
- Family creativity - not a decoration but the one thing no competitor can copy, and a way to model entrepreneurship for my kids.
Built by hand, piece by piece
Lettering, print, stamps, packaging, caps, crochet - the whole brand made in-house.

What's the value of this for you?
A passion project belongs in a portfolio because it shows how I think unpaid. Hire a designer and you are not buying a logo file - you are buying judgment that holds up when something unexpected hits. Polisze is where I prove I work that way by default:
- I have run a brand end-to-end - product, print, content, sales - with my own money on the line. I know it from the owner's side of the table, not just the designer's.
- I design for the problem you haven't hit yet. The glasses we wear on camera started as a look and quietly became privacy protection for the kids.
- I build for the long game - what still makes sense in ten years, not just this quarter.
The deliverable is the easy part. The value is the wider perspective behind it: someone who sees the whole board and hands you one less thing to worry about.
